TIP – A nice variation is to substitute the lentils with 1-540ml can drained chick peas.
TIP – Nutritional yeast is an inactive yeast that’s a favourite amongst vegans because it’s a source of Vitamin B-12 and has a unique umami flavour that’s similar to parmesan cheese when added to foods. It’s gluten free plus high in protein and fibre!
TIP – I’m not a gadget person; I find them more work to clean than chopping by hand. The Trudeau manual food processor is my exception (click on bolded words in steps to view). I use it for coleslaw, guacamole, caulirice, bread crumbs, tabbouleh, salsa fresca, tapenade, baba ganoush or any dip that needs texture. I liken it to my salad spinner and wouldn’t be without it!
